Rick Hansen’s guests will help lead Stampede Parade

17 youth who have all made a difference in their own communities have been given a special honour.
The kids will join The Man in Motion himself, Rick Hansen, as his special guest when he leads this year’s Stampede Parade.
Officials say they tried to choose a cross-section representative of the entire country. Seven of those special guests will be from Calgary, including grade seven student Drea Bolton.
The little girl says she volunteers her time because it’s nice to know you’re helping others.
She says this is a Stampede she’ll likely never forget.
“I’m born and raised in Calgary, I ride horses, I love Calgary, it’s my home,” says Bolton.
She admits she’s a little nervous but says the chance to walk alongside Hansen is the opportunity of a lifetime.
