CFIB applauds legislation to send postal employees back to work

The Canadian Federation of Independent Business says the economic impact of the recent labour dispute at Canada Post is in the tens of millions of dollars.
The CFIB estimates most small and medium-sized businesses racked up losses of $200 to $250 a day.
Spokesman Dan Kelly tells 660News that even before rotating strikes began, companies were reporting a drop in business, with customers putting off purchases, because they knew whatever they ordered would likely not be delivered on time.
Kelly says the post office will likely see a drop in business moving forward as well.
He says many business owners are going to look to move their billing and payment transactions online so they can avoid hearing the old cliche “the cheque is the mail.”
