Order of Canada for three Calgarians

Canada Day will be very special for three Calgarians appointed on Thursday to the Order of Canada.
Fifty Canadians will receive the honour at an upcoming ceremony.
Former Dragon Den star, Brett Wilson, Hockey player Hayley Wickenheiser and local Dr. Jean Besner will receive one of Canada’s highest honours from the Governor General, David Johnston.
Besner is being recognized for her contributions to healthcare, Wickenheiser for her achievements in hockey and her role in the growth of women’s game.
Brett Wilson is being recognized for his work as a businessman and philanthropist.
Queen Elizabeth created the Order of Canada in 1967, to recognize citizens who have enriched the lives of others and made a difference to the country.
