Over 400 animals will be heading home after the ranchers they were seized from pay to get them back from the SPCA.
270 heads of cattle and 150 horses were seized from the Graham Ranching Company near Drumheller for alleged animal cruelty after 12 carcasses were found on the ranch. Other animals also had to be put-down due to malnutrition.
According to the herald, courts have agreed to turn over the animals after they pay $160,000 and repair fencing around the ranch.
The Graham’s are fighting back, filing a $1.25-million lawsuit against the SPCA for the illegal seizure of animals.
