Lawsuit filed against Stampede midway operator

Three people are seeking $480,000 in damages, in connection with an incident on the Crazy Mouse Rollercoaster in July 2009.

The Calgary Herald reports Ashley Allan, Norm Althouse and Christopher Althouse accuse the ride operator of negligence.

The trio accuses him of not making sure all the cars on the ride were empty when he manually pushed some down the track, slamming them into parked cars.

The plaintiffs claim they suffered injuries that required chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage and exercise therapy.

The operator of the ride has yet to file a statement of defence.

Just last week, North American Midway Entertainment implemented a number of new safety measures after an arm on the Scorpion ride flew off, injuring 10 people; mostly teenagers.
