Airlines to ease prices

WestJet and Air Canada are expected to lower their airfares.

Industry watchers tell The Calgary Herald the two airlines will be trying to lure back passengers after demand dropped off in the wake of climbing airfares.

Both have been flying emptier planes since prices crept up early this year.

One analyst says the fares should start to drop in the next six weeks and into the fall.
