Many people, especially in the Springbank Hill area, watched a funnel cloud pass overhead Wednesday night, bringing violent winds that shredded trees in the area.
Duty Insp. Michael Watterston says there were no reports of any injuries, with most of the damage contained to an area near 17th Avenue and 85th Street S.W.
Environment Canada will survey the damage Thursday and determine whether a tornado did touch down or not, while affected homeowners will be calling their insurance companies.
