Countdown begins to 2012 Summer Olympics

Six years after being awarded the games, London, England begins the official one-year countdown to the 2012 Summer Olympics on Wednesday.

Canada had a record 14 gold medals in Vancouver and Canadians are feeling the excitement boiling up again as the summer games draw closer.

Scott Moore, President of Rogers Broadcasting, says Canadians should get ready for 5,000 hours of coverage across multiple platforms.

“I think tablets are going to be a really interesting addition,” said Moore. “Especially in the summer when viewers out in their garden, on their patio or at the bar, they can use their tablet to watch almost any competition they want.”

In London, the city is celebrating the upcoming Olympic Games with the biggest party happening in Trafalgar Square.
