Long-range summer forecast

July may have been wetter than usual, but the long weekend Calgary experienced can’t really be called much less than perfect.
The latest long-range forecast issued by Environment Canada calls for near or above-average temperatures in the next three months.
The outlook calls for above-average temperatures across the prairies from Calgary all the way east to northwestern Ontario, and below-average precipitation from Calgary west into British Columbia.
It won’t be hot, but it will be warm, and rainfall may be a little bit more scarce in the second half of the summer than it was in the first half of the summer, according to 660News Meteorologist David Spence.
There’s still a chance at hitting the 30 degree mark, as we still have another month and a half of summer left to go, but 30 degrees has so far eluded Calgary.
