Do Albertans have an accent?

Albertans are cut from a different cloth and now a University of Lethbridge professor wants to take a closer look at the western tapestry; more specifically, what we say, and how we say it.
Whether you call it a hoodie or a bunny-hug; a cabin or a cottage, the study will compare the way we speak to the rest of the country.
Early-morning commuters at the Crowfoot LRT Station tell 660News, there doesn’t seem to be one specifically for the prairie region.
“There is from Quebec, I guess, and Ontario sounds different too,” says one man.
“Well, of course the East coast is definitely different,” says another commuter.
Mostly everyone agreed, the one distinct accent belongs to the Newfoundlander.
One woman says Alberta does have a little bit of a drawl, and we rely on the phrase “give ‘er” just a little too much.
