Thunderstorm hammers Calgary

Calgary is currently under a severe thunderstorm watch after a slow moving storm made its way from the city’s northwest to southeast.
The storm brought intense rain, hail and strong winds.
660 listener Todd says while on Country Hills Blvd. passing eastbound Beddington Tr. in the northeast around 6:30 p.m. Friday and couldn’t believe what he saw.
All lanes were underwater and water covered the pickup truck’s hood with people on top of their cars stranded in the middle of it.
He said three lanes of traffic were trying to turn around and head back west to Beddington.
The storm lingered in the area for a few hours.
