A dump on private snow removal services

Private snow removal services are predicting a winter of discontent for Calgarians.
Last month, council decided private operators would no longer be allowed to dump snow free of charge at two city sites.
The move caught some operators off-guard; a co-owner of SnowDogz tells The Calgary Sun she relied on both of the sites that were banned.
City officials are defending the decision though, saying snow dumping costs taxpayers an estimated $400,000 a year.
Private operators will now have to find vacant land in the city and get a development permit.
