Police are investigating a shooting after a man walked into the Peter Lougheed Hospital with a bullet wound around 3 p.m. Tuesday.
Duty Inspector Keith Cain tells 660News, the victim, a man in his early 30’s, was quickly rushed to a trauma unit at the northeast hospital.
“I’m told a serious injury, but not life threatening. District 5 is handling the investigation [and] they’re closely working with other specialty units of the Calgary Police Service,” said Cain.
The main focus of the investigation is where the shooting happened.
Cain says they believe it took place in or near a restaurant in the northeast, but are waiting to talk to the victim after he’s out of surgery.
