Alberta and Calgary continue housing affordability trend

Alberta remains one of the most affordable provinces to own a home.

According to the latest housing trends report by RBC, housing affordability improved a great deal in Alberta since the provincial housing boom ended in 2007.

And Calgary continues to be one of the most affordable major cities in Canada.

Robert Hogue, an RBC senior economist, says strong economic fundamentals of Alberta and Calgary will have a great impact on the housing market and will support buyer demand in the future.

Nationally, prices in Vancouver continue to skyrocket, sending BC’s affordability measures to their worst ever levels.
