Alberta Liberal leadership debate gets heated

With just days left until the new Alberta Liberal leader is chosen, the five candidates squared off in a debate in Calgary Tuesday night.
Two of the leading candidates, Raj Sherman and Hugh Macdonald, sparred over the longer-than-normal eligible voters list with Macdonald saying it contains fake names and deceased Albertans.
Many of those on the list support Sherman.
According to The Calgary Herald, the debate also highlighted the struggles the party has had to survive.
In an attempt to draw more Albertans to the Liberal party, it’s allowing both members and a group called “registered supporters” to vote.
The new leader will be announced on Sept. 10 in Edmonton.
