Alberta’s distracted driving legislation is finally here

After talking, discussing and debating the idea for a year or longer, Alberta’s distracted driving legislation is finally on the books.

It’s now against the law for Alberta drivers to text, check e-mail, talk on a handheld cell phone, read a book or apply makeup while behind the wheel.

Even entering info on your GPS is a no-no.

Anyone caught doing any of these things while driving could face a $172 fine.
