Dog owner pleads not guilty

A woman has pleaded not guilty to charges stemming from her two Akita dogs attacking a couple and their pet beagle in a residence near Didsbury.

Andrea Strang did not appear in court today where her lawyer entered not guilty pleas to two counts of a dog biting a person, and one count of causing damage to another dog.

The Calgary Herald reports, the Akitas attacked the couple in a garage where the dogs were kept with a litter of puppies.

The male victim required over 600 stitches.

He lived in the residence and had to go through the garage to get to his rental suite.

Strang will stand trial in court on November 18th.

Her two Akitas were put-down after the incident, and the puppies were adopted out.
