The last long weekend of the summer typically see campsites in Alberta filling up quickly.
Omar McDadi with Parks Canada tells 660News if you’re hoping to snag a spot, arrive early.
“The September long weekend is traditionally one of the busiest weekends of the year” he says “there is lots to do in the mountain national parks. With respect to the campgrounds they have been filling up quickly and folks without a reservation we’re recommending the best possible thing to do is to arrive early, before noon each day for your best chance of getting a site”.
Along with the beautiful weather, McDadi says the trails are in great shape.
Adding to activities this weekend, is the 2nd annual Lake Louise fall festival.
