A woman has been shot and killed on a violence-plagued Aboriginal reserve in central Alberta.
The 23-year-old was shot at a home on the Samson Cree First Nation next door to where a five-year-old boy was killed earlier this summer.
RCMP Sgt. Patrick Webb tells 660News it’s not known if the two attacks are related, but that will be investigated.
Webb says the woman was shot outside the home early Monday morning and died in hospital.
In July, Ethan Yellowbird was killed when a bullet passed through his bedroom.
The child was the grandson of reserve Chief Marvin Yellowbird.
The reserve has been battling a problem with gang-related violence.
Webb adds police are interviewing witnesses in the latest shooting, but there have been no arrests.
