Thousands of Alberta PCs lined up to choose the next premier in advance polls Tuesday, ahead of the regular first-ballot vote for the party leadership on Saturday.
According to a poll done for The Calgary Herald, Gary Mar is in the lead with 31 per cent support; Alison Redford is in second place with 20 per cent.
Doug Horner and Ted Morton are in a near-tie for third.
If no one gets 50 per cent support in the first vote this weekend, a second ballot will happen October 1st with the top three candidates.
