Mayor Nenshi says city policy needs change

Mayor Naheed Nenshi says Canadian cities need more financial resources to weather the current economic turbulence.
During a stop in Eastern Canada, Nenshi said the property tax system is an outdated way for municipalities to raise revenues.
He says both Ottawa and the provinces have a role to play in strengthening the financial health of urban centres.
Nenshi says policy changes are necessary if cities are to help the country mount an economic recovery.
