Fewer distracted drivers on the road

Calgary police say the introduction of Alberta’s new distracted drivers law, back on September 1st is helping make city streets safer.
Traffic Constable Jim Lebedev tells 660News in the past few weeks, he and his colleagues have issued more than 100 tickets, along with dozens and dozens of warnings.
Lebedev says he is noticing more drivers using blue tooth and other hands free devices to communicate.
The fine for somebody caught multi tasking behind the wheel is $172 dollars.
Police say with winter fast approaching it’s even more important people drive with both hands on the wheel.
