Calgarian dies after being hit twice by vehicles

A Calgary man is dead after he was struck twice by separate vehicles on a highway northeast of Calgary.

The 29-year-old died at the scene early Saturday morning on Highway 9 near Irricana.

RCMP say he was hit by one vehicle and then a second as he lay on the road.

His name has not been released.

Police say alcohol appears to have been a factor.

Investigators are looking for a passing motorist who may have stopped and offered to get gas for the victim’s stranded vehicle.
