Pinizzotto won’t start Canucks’ road trip

VANCOUVER (NEWS1130) – The Vancouver Canucks held one last Rogers Arena practice before boarding a flight to Calgary to begin a 12-day, six-game road trip tomorrow night against the Flames. The team won’t be back on home ice until a November 13th home game against the New York Islanders.
Forward Steve Pinnizzotto (shoulder) and defenceman Aaron Rome (finger) have not played since both were injured in a September 25th pre-season game.
Coach Alain Vigneault said Rome will return at some point on the trip, but Pinizzotto will be forced to stay home. “He started, didn’t respond the way we had anticipated.” Pinizzotto tweaked his shoulder during practice.
Vigneault also confirmed Roberto Luongo will get the start in goal against the Flames.
The Canucks don’t appear to be changing anything up front. Cody Hodgson, who was promoted to the second line will stay there alongside David Booth and Ryan Kesler. The defensive combinations are also expected to stay the same.
