Calgary Zoo show its support for military vets this weekend

The Calgary Zoo will do its part to honour those who have fought for our freedom this Remembrance Day by offering free admission to both vets and current serving members of the Canadian Armed Forces.

Past and current military personnel will be able to enjoy free admission to the zoo.

“We’re also extending that as well to their immediate families, a 50 per cent discount on admission,” Zoo spokesperson Trish Exton-Parder tells 660News. “That starts on the 11th, Remembrance Day through till the 13th on Sunday.”

“We just want to make sure that we are acknowledging that day,” adds Exton-Parder. “All that we ask is that folks that participate in that bring a valid veteran’s affairs card, or service ID card, military card, discharge papers with ID, any of that type of things will certainly be honoured at the north gate.”

The offer runs from Remembrance Day, Friday November 11th, through Sunday November 13th.
