Teen emerging from coma after crash



The survivor of a crash that took the lives of four high school football players has come out of his medically-induced coma in an Edmonton hospital.

Zach Judd’s aunt tells The Calgary Sun his Grade 12 older brother, Louis, has hardly left his side, except for to play in the games leading up to Saturday’s provincial championship.

While Zach lay comatose, doctors dealt with his broken ribs, punctured lungs and head trauma.

In Saturday’s game, the Grande Prairie Warriors beat the Peace River Pioneers 30-14 to claim the Peace Bowl.
