Pet licensing rates increase

Dog and cat lovers in Calgary will start forking out more money to register their furry friends.
Owners of unaltered dogs will now pay $58 per year, up from $52, while a spayed or neutered pup will jump $5 to $36.
Registering your spayed or neutered cat will also go up $5 to $15.
According to The Calgary Sun, the city has the highest licensing compliance rates in North America with 91 per cent of dogs and 55 per cent of cats registered.
