Central library may not break ground next year

Residents holding their breath for a new central library will have to keep on waiting.
Alderman Druh Farrell tells The Calgary Herald, ground likely won’t be broken for a new library in 2012, missing-out on starting the project during the centennial year of the downtown location.
She says the city likely won’t even look at the proposals process until late next year.
The project could cost up to $250 million and will be located on 3rd Street S.E., across from city hall.
