Ease post-Christmas bills by planning ahead!

A money expert says the rush of gift-giving is a natural high, but it’s also important to think about how you’re going to feel about the gift and person in six months time, when the thrill is over.

Tracey Watson with Money Mentors tells 660News to avoid the letdown, start with a spending plan.

She says, “It’s good to ask some questions like who are you buying for, make a list, it’s just like going grocery shopping. You want to go with a list otherwise you end up buying more than you actually planned to, perhaps even buying for yourself.”

Watson adds a few days of shopping fun, both retail and online, can turn into months of payback misery well into the new year.
