Jeffrey Lienen found guilty of second-degree murder

Jeffrey Lienen has been found guilty of second-degree murder, after a hit and run outside an Olds bar last year.

The jury also found him guilty of aggravated assault for causing serious injuries to another 19-year-old Dan Skocdopole.

18-year-old Nicholas Baier was killed when Lienen drove his truck into a crowd of people outside the Texas Mickey bar in October 2010.

Leinen, who is from Calgary, faces an automatic life sentence with no chance of parole for 10 to 25 years.

Reports say Leinen bowed and shook his head when the verdict was read shortly after 7 o’clock Wednesday night.

The jury deliberated for only five hours before coming to a verdict.
