More changes could be on the way for Transit’s reserved parking program

For the second time in about a year, Calgary city council is looking at making changes to the transit reserved parking program.
Alderman Brian Pincott tells 660News, he became frustrated during a morning session of council when his colleagues began suggesting numerous changes to a committee report that would streamline the program for commuters.
“Council said, no we actually want to see if we can make a whole bunch of other changes that would make it incredibly more complicated,” Pincott tells 660News. “Have floating rates, potentially have daily parking rates as opposed to monthly reserved spots.”
Pincott says LRT lots in different parts of the city have different issues, but he adds before council begins making changes to the program, the ramifications of their actions need to be well thought out otherwise, he says, the program will become too confusing and complicated for commuters.
