It’s a big year for Calgary, as the city marks a series of centennial anniversaries.
Among them are those of the Calgary Public Library, the city’s Recreation Department, the Calgary Stampede, and the Pumphouse Theatre.
With the celebrations also come a series of legacy projects, and the coronation of Calgary as the Cultural Capital of Canada.
This year’s many cultural events will come out of hundreds of grants worth $1,200 to be distributed to community groups or people interested in hosting such tributes.
