American retail giant “Target” is not only coming to Canada, but will be building their giant distribution centre in Balzac.
The warehouse will sit on just under 80 acres and will be 1.3 million square feet in size.
A spokesperson says Target has selected sites for its distribution centres to help ensure their supply chain needs are met for Canadian stores.
Target intends to open its first stores in early 2013 and will have six locations in Calgary including Chinook Centre, Forest Lawn, Market Mall and Sunridge Mall, to name a few.
The distribution centre will be located off Range Road 291, east of Nexen’s Balzac power station.
