Crews address trouble atop Husky building

Life is returning to normal in downtown Calgary following Monday’s heavy winds.
Large gusts helped loosen chicken wire around the Husky sign at Western Canadian Place leaving it dangling over the road way.
Crews closed parts of 8th Avenue and 6th Street S.W. out of concern for the public for almost 24 hours.
The chicken wire, for the most part, is gone and what’s left is longer a concern.
It took more than an hour for fire crews and maintenance workers to repair the damage Tuesday morning.
The Calgary Fire Department’s Brian McAsey says responding to troubles caused by the recent high winds is just another day of living in Calgary.
“Living in Calgary you get some pretty crazy weather. In this particular case, we have a lot of wind happening in the last month or so, so the high angle team has proven invaluable,” says McAsey.
The chicken wire was on the sign to keep birds from nesting.
