Black History month celebrated in Calgary

This is Black History month and there will be several events taking place in Calgary to mark the occasion.

Umashanie Reddy tells 660News one of the events will take place on Friday, February 10th on the second floor of the Central Library, where people are welcome “to come in and share in dialogue and discuss.”

She says the purpose is to celebrate the accomplishments and legacy of African Canadians.

The event starts at 7:00 PM and there will be several different artists in attendance including poets, authors and musicians.

The event is open to the public and is free of charge.
