Enbridge won’t negotiate with first nations

Oil giant Enbridge says it will not offer better financial terms to aboriginal bands standing in the way of a major oil pipeline from Alberta to the Pacific coast.
CEO Pat Daniel tells Reuters he’s open to alternate routes for the Northern Gateway pipeline but thinks the current route makes the most sense.
The $5.5-billion mega-project would run 1,177 km from Alberta to Kitimat before it’s shipped to Asia.
Enbridge says aboriginal bands get 10 per cent equity in the project and $1-billion to spend in community development if they support the pipeline.
