A local woman has turned a devastating medical condition into a way to help others.
Vanessa McWilliams lost her hair as a young girl after being diagnosed with alopecia and she now operates a mobile wig salon, Confident Curls.
“I’ve been recently visiting the Children’s Hospital quite a bit, helping a couple little girls get fitted and find hair. What I do now, I can’t even begin to explain how good I feel walking out of an appointment when I can see someone smiling
She says many women and girls are embarrassed to go into a solon to get fitted for a wig, so she is able to take that embarrassment away by visiting customers in their homes.
