A dog that was rescued over the weekend will have to her leg amputated.
The Alberta Animal Rescue Crew Society picked up the german shepherd cross on Saturday after someone noticed she was missing part of her leg.
Executive Director Deanna Thompson tells the Herald, the dog is in a foster home here in Calgary, but is to ill for the surgery she will need.
Thompson also says after a trip to the vet, it’s believed the dog got caught in a leghold trap.
The dog is also malnourished and dehydrated. The organization says it could cost thousands of dollars to the help the dog and are asking for donations to offset the cost.
