Blaze at abandoned home put out

The fire that engulfed an abandoned home in Bankview Tuesday morning has been extinguished.
Firefighters continue to look for hot spots and investigators are trying to find out what sparked the blaze.
The home was abandoned and was boarded up when crews first arrived on scene just after 8 a.m. to find thick black smoke and a fire in the basement.
The fire department says the house was empty of furniture and it does not appear as though any one was living in the home.
The blaze brought traffic at 14th Street between 23rd and 26th Avenues southwest to a standstill.
