Calgarians donate millions to help expand STARS

A Calgary couple is about to become the largest non-corporate donors in STARS history.

Doug and Susan Ramsay are handing over $2-million to help the air ambulance service.

The Globe and Mail reports the donation will be used for training and education programs as STARS expands its services further into Manitoba and Saskatchewan.

The couple says they have friends that have been saved by the service and its helicopters often fly over their ranch just south of Calgary.
