Prosecutors have begun their case in the first degree murder trial of Real Christian Honorio, who they allege was one of three gunmen behind the 2009 massacre at the Bolsa restaurant.
The 28-year-old is charged with first-degree murder in the deaths of a known gang member, his associate, and innocent bystander Keni Su’a.
In court Monday morning, prosecutes said they will show evidence Honorio played a key role in the planning and execution of the shootings and that he was one of two masked gunmen that opened fire in the restaurant.
Prosecutors plan on calling 30 witnesses, some with first hand accounts of the shootings. They will also call a man known as “MM” who was part of the plot and acted as a lookout that day. He was granted immunity for his testimony.
In the trial for Michael Roberto and Nathan Zuccherato, court heard the killings were part of an escalating feud between the FOB and FOB Killers gangs.
Honorio’s trial is before a judge and jury in the court of queen’s bench.
