Police cruisers getting cameras

The long arm of the law is getting more eyes on the streets of Calgary; digital eyes that is.
The city is now accepting bids to install about 450 cameras into police vehicles.
A pilot program put 21 cameras in cruisers over the past few years; Police Association President John Dooks says they’ve proven to be very valuable.
He tells The Calgary Sun they provide solid, reliable evidence that helps with investigations.
Dooks estimates the program will cost anywhere from $2-million to $5-million, with the equipment being installed over the next several years.
