Pedestrian critically hurt after hit-and-run in NE Calgary

A person has been sent to hospital after a hit-and-run in NE Calgary Monday afternoon.

A pedestrian is in hospital with critical injuries after a hit-and-run crash in northeast Calgary on Monday afternoon.

Calgary police say the crash happened around 3:35 p.m. at the intersection of 52 Street and 44 Avenue NE.

A pedestrian was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, according to police. The driver did not stay at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police say traffic in the area is expected to be delayed as investigators remain on scene. The public is being asked to avoid the intersection.
