Calgary police say the crash happened around 3:35 p.m. at the intersection of 52 Street and 44 Avenue NE.

A pedestrian was rushed to hospital with critical injuries, according to police. The driver did not stay at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.

Police say traffic in the area is expected to be delayed as investigators remain on scene. The public is being asked to avoid the intersection.
