Big Rock’s CEO steps down

The founder of Calgary’s Big Rock Brewery has stepped down as CEO.
Ed McNally founded Big Rock in 1984 after careers in law and as a barley farmer.
“I look forward to having more time to spend with my other two passions: my wife Linda and my berry plantation,” McNally said in a release making the announcement Thursday.
According to the company’s website, their beer reached international acclaim during the 1988 Olympics when foreign athletes and media raved about it’s flavour and were shocked that it was brewed in Alberta.
McNally founded Big Rock for one reason because he wanted a good local beer to drink.
He’ll remain on as company chairman.
The brewery said that Robert Sartor, CEO of Forzani Group Ltd. from 2003 until it was acquired by Canadian Tire Corp. (TSX:CTC.A) last August, will replace McNally as chief executive.
