St. Patty’s day

St. Patrick’s Day hasn’t always been about green beer and pub food but rather, is rooted deep into the religious history of Ireland with Saint Patrick.

In the early 1900’s St. Patrick’s Day began to evolve into the celebrations we know and love today with parades and young dance groups and a day long Irish celebration.

Irishman Gerhard Curran, with the James Joyce Irish Pub says they will have Irish music beginning at breakfast Saturday morning and straight through to 2 a.m. the next  morning.

Curran adds in Ireland, March 17th has a family focus and it’s a day of holy obligation with a chance to drink a Guinness during Lent.
