OTTAWA – The verbal jabs are turning into physical ones on Parliament Hill this weekend. Liberal MP Justin Trudeau is preparing to step into the ring with Conservative Senator Patrick Brazeau in a charity boxing match.
The three round bout is taking place in Ottawa and will follow Olympic rules, which means headgear will be worn.
Senator Brazeau is pumped up saying he is a pressure cooker right now and cannot wait to let the steam out on his opponent.
“Float like an Algonquin and sting like a Cree. If he’s never been hit by an 18-wheel truck, that’s how he’s going to feel when he wakes up on April 1st and that’s not going to be an April Fools.”
Brazeau has a history in martial arts but Trudeau avoided the trash talk and said he feels he has an advantage.
“Certainly my reach and my speed, my training. I have more boxing experience than him. He’s never boxed.”
The loser will have to chop off all their hair and wear the opposing party’s hockey jersey for a week.
