Rogers launches LTE network

Rogers is launching its LTE network in Calgary Monday.

The company promises it will change the way customers use their mobile devices at work, or at play, by giving them high-speed internet anytime, anywhere.

LTE stands for Long Term Evolution, but what it really means is speed.

Loarlei Kovacik of Rogers Wireless Alberta says it’s the fastest mobile network technology in the world today.

“Customers will be able to download applications, stream live HD sports, videos, files, you name it, where and when they want to with virtually no delays and really important, no buffering,” says Kovacik.

The company currently offers seven LTE ready devices, including smartphones, tablets, and the Rocket Stick.

Kovacik says there are more devices on the way; and there are also LTE plans for iPad users.
