Calgary Homeless Foundation CEO to resign

The man who spearheaded the 10-year Plan to End Homelessness in Calgary is taking on a new national role in a similar capacity.

The Calgary Homeless Foundation’s CEO, Tim Richter, will step down in August to work with a new organization, the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness.

The goal is to spread Calgary’s success in reducing the number of homeless to other Canadian cities like Toronto and Vancouver.

Since the 10-year Plan to End Homelessness was put in place four years ago, the Calgary Homeless Foundation reports this city has gone from having the fastest growing rate of homelessness in Canada to an 11.4 per cent reduction.
