Dangerous driver charged

A Calgary man is facing a number of charges after allegedly trying to evade police in a stolen vehicle on the QE 2 highway near Innisfail.

Sunday morning, a number of drivers were concerned after witnessing a north bound pick-up truck speeding excessively, swerving and hitting the ditch at least twice.

RCMP attempted to pull the vehicle over, but the driver sped off on a dirt road.

The vehicle eventually got stuck on a hill and police were able to arrest the driver, who tried to flee on foot.

20-year-old Kenneth Peter Robert Nepoose will appear in court later this week.

He has been charged with:

– Possession of stolen property over $5000
– Dangerous operation of a motor vehicle
– Flight from police
– Having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired
– Having care and control of a motor vehicle while impaired over ..08
– Theft
– Driving while unauthorized
– Operating an uninsured motor vehicle
