CTF does the math on election promises

The Canadian Taxpayers Federation is out with its break-down of spending promises so far in the election.

By a large margin, the Tories are on top of the spending pile with $3.4 billion in pledges made so far; the NDP are next at $1.9 billion, followed by the Liberals with $770 million and the Wildrose at $308 million.

Alberta CTF Director Scott Hennig tells 660News this election is better than the last one when it comes to promises.

“I remember doing this exact exercise four years ago and the vast majority of promises were uncosted; now the majority are costed” says Henning.

Henning adds it is strange the PC’s have made so many promises that weren’t in the provincial budget just a few weeks ago.
